I’m not quite sure what I expected when I ordered this DVD, but it was more advanced than what I expected. I have never taken a formal yoga, because they just are not easy to find where I live. I like yoga, but this was much more than what I planned on biting off. First and foremost, it is two hours. I do not know too many people who have two hours to devote days to work something out. Secondly, some of the sets are far too advanced to do at home, if you have had a very personalized education. I was a bit scared to try some of the positions for fear of hurting myself. For crying outloud, is this man Gumby. There should be a disclosure that this is for advanced yoga students, not beginners or intermediate. And frankly, it’s a bit scary. Rating: 3 / 5

This guy is an amazing teacher, his dialogue is perfect and his descriptions of how to build each line is superb. If you really want to practice Ashtanga series with full commitment, you will enjoy this video. Every time you play it you want to hear something new, it may be how you place your feet on the carpet or where to look for in a kroppsställning.Jag know that some people think that 90 minutes is a long time and I was introduced to yoga in 1990 makes my practice, so for me that does not really seem to be a long time (I can easily do 3-4 hours of yoga) so this is something of a disclaimer. But I do not thing a 60 min yoga routine can do justice alls.Detta is a good video and when you get the Ashtanga Primary Series down, you’ll spend less time trying to “figure” out how to get into farming and more time with your breath and meditation. This video gives you a really good reason to do det.Namaste Rating: 5 / 5

Wow. I have practiced yoga for many years, video, and Richard Freeman is the most inspiring performers I have had the privilege of meeting. The practices on this DVD can employ most of us for a lifetime. It is not beginner material, the clarity of the explanations that can benefit anyone, and it would be good for a beginner to get this exposure from the beginning, as long as they do not get discouraged. I passed initially over Freeman’s “Ashtanga Yoga: Introduction” DVD, thinking it might be too easy for my level of experience, but now I will buy it, hoping that this same quality of instruction will be provided, but with a more manageable (for me) series. Special attention is given to Bandhas and spirit, which too often overlooked in other yoga videos, questions I had not even really articulated some of these features were answered. Body dynamics is also emphasized in each pose. Freeman championship gives credibility to the specific content of his teaching. Rating: 5 / 5

I have been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for about 2 years now and bought this DVD because I really could not afford to pay $ 20 every time I wanted to take a class. After seeing it all the way, I realized that I never made a full primary series and have never seen it in its entirety in a book I’ve read on the subject. . . I found a little unusual. I found myself fast forwarding through a lot of moves I found to be repetitive or just hard for me to do. The whole series is pretty long and takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. That said, Richard Freeman is very thorough and does a good pace. The video is divided into chanting, breathing, standing and sitting poser.Om anyone knows of any Ashtanga videos that are split into 45, 60, 90 and 105 minutes of guided practice, let me know. If there is one, it would be a good idea, sometimes it would be nice to have less options when the time is not enough. Rating: 4 / 5
