This product is not very useful, because the compartments are of fixed size and the sizes cannot be adjusted. Have a tool or part that’s too big for their largest bin? You can’t leave bins out to deal with this, because the others will shift around. So, you’re out of luck.

We really liked Stanley’s model 014006R, which had 26 compartments with movable partitions. But they discontinued it and have been totally unresponsive to requests for it. All their so-called “customer care” department is done is send us boilerplate e-mails, probably from a sweatshop in India. So, we are looking at products from other manufacturers. Stanley has lost our business.

I have three of these ZAG organizers. I use them for keeping screws and small hardware parts organized. The ZAG products are the best organizers available. I have another brand of parts organizer (Stanley) to store small nails in and every time I tilt the organizer vertically, some of the smaller nails move between the internal compartments. That never happens with the ZAG organizers. If you buy this ZAG product, you will not be disappointed.

I have about twelve of these things – the big ones too. I do carpentry & electrical and they are excellent for sundry hardware. They close well. And hold the contents fairly securely. The clasps are strong and I haven’t had any of them break on me yet.

The only thing wrong with these boxes is their price. They should be $10 bucks MAX. I use them for my work and I’m kind of an organizer freak. But with all that said, each time I buy one of these things I know I’m getting screwed. Sadly, most similarly purposed boxes simply do not cut the mustard. And this one is serviceable.

I bought this case probably six months or so ago, and haven’t used it since. I’d bought it in the hopes of using it as an odds and ends storage container for nails, screws, bolts, etc. It works well for the larger items, but the minute you hold it as intended, the smaller pieces fall through the cracks into the other bins, defeating the purpose of the separate bins.

While it’s still a usable tote, I found the Plano brand (looks like a lunchbox) to be better suited for what I needed. The difference between the two being Plano’s method of carrying the smaller bits. Rather than have the cartons tipped on their side, they’re always laying flat. The stanley organizing case works against itself.

I’ll probably end up using it for larger items that are still small enough to fit into the separate bins, but be advised that the case is not suited to carrying small nails and parts.

As the title of my review indicates, these ARE pricey. You can find many storage organizers that are much less expensive. However, I doubt you’ll find many that are made more solidly or will last as long, or work as well! If you are looking for a heavy-duty organizer that will last, this is the one.

I have used several types of lighter-weight organizers that just didn’t last. I have three of these and load them with screws and bolts and other small metal and plastic pieces. These travel in my van every day. This is not an easy environment. Heat, cold, and vibration are all a factor.

These organizers stand up to the test. They close securely- PROVIDING YOU ARE CERTAIN YOU HAVE LOCKED THE TABS. Don’t just close the lid and pick it up. Make SURE you have “heard the click” when you snap the clips shut. Once the lid is secure, each heavy-duty removable container stays securely in place. I especially like the feature of the removable compartments. Most of the lighter duty organizers only have plastic dividers that slide in and out of light weight clips. They just don’t have the strength to withstand daily use and eventually, the dividers break. What’s the use to have a divider that doesn’t keep parts where you put them?

Another nice feature is that you can individually remove one of the compartments and close the lid and set the rest of the parts aside. This is especially useful when you are needing multiples of one particular item and don’t want to dig them out of a non-removable compartment and set them loose someplace just waiting to get scattered around.

The only reason I didn’t give this a rating of five stars is how easy it is to THINK the lid is locked, and that the labels are very difficult to remove. The top of my organizer STILL has adhesive residue and bits of the label stuck to it. I don’t know what to use to dissolve the adhesive that will not damage the plastic top. Yeah, I know- a pretty small gripe.

If they had a way to rate it 4. 5 stars, I would have given that rating.
